Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about living with us.

Is this a treatment center or rehab?

No. Overcomers is peer-based supportive housing - not a treatment center, detox facility, or medical clinic. We provide structure, accountability, and community. If you need clinical care, we help connect you to licensed providers.

How much does it cost?

Standard pricing is $1,000/month with a $1,000 deposit ($2,000 total at move-in). All fees are disclosed in writing before you sign anything. No hidden charges.

How do I apply?

Fill out a short application (takes 2-3 minutes). We review it and call or text you within 24 hours to discuss next steps. You can also schedule a tour first.

Who lives here?

Adults in recovery from substance use or reentry from incarceration. All residents are committed to sobriety and building stability. We screen every applicant to make sure the fit is right for everyone.

What are the rules?

Written house rules cover sobriety, curfew, chores, visitors, quiet hours, and shared responsibilities. Rules are reviewed during orientation and apply equally to everyone. View policies.

Can I have visitors?

Visitor policies are outlined in the house rules. Generally, visits are allowed during designated hours with advance notice. Overnight guests are not permitted.

What if I have a complaint or problem?

We have a written grievance process. You can raise concerns formally or informally, and they'll be addressed fairly, promptly, and without retaliation. See resident rights.

Do you accept insurance or Medi-Cal?

No. Since we're not a treatment program, we don't accept insurance. Rent is paid directly. If you need financial assistance referrals, contact us and we'll try to help.

How long can I stay?

There's no fixed maximum. Most residents stay 3-12 months. The goal is to build enough stability and routines to transition to independent living when you're ready.

Are you certified by CCAPP?

Our operating policies are aligned with NARR/CCAPP best-practice standards. For details on our compliance approach, see our Standards page.

I'm a veteran - do you have specific support?

Yes. We offer tailored support for veterans including reentry help and resource connections. Learn more about veteran support.

I'm a case manager - how do I refer someone?
